Art Park
A unique beauty experience
Aquapetra is a place where art is enjoyed, created, and exhibited. The resort's philosophy, oriented towards holistic wellbeing connecting body and mind, gains expression in an ambitious project that seeks to combine the location's natural and architectural beauty with the expressive power of contemporary art, in a continuous dialogue between art, nature, and architecture, and between artists, guests and players from the art world.
GUESTS ARE INVITED TO EXPERIENCE A “SLOW” AND CONTEMPLATIVE TAKE ON CULTURAL TOURISM, GEARED TOWARDS MULTI-SENSORY ENJOYMENT AND DIFFERENT FROM MAINSTREAM GALLERY ACCESS.

THE WORKS HOSTED IN AQUAPETRA ARE SITE-SPECIFIC INSTALLATIONS, WHICH INTERPRET THE CONCEPTS OF LANDSCAPE AND TERRITORY IN A WAY THAT’S NEW AND ORIGINAL. ONCE CREATED, TOGETHER THEY MAKE UP THE SCULPTURE PARK, A PLACE OF ARTISTIC LICENCE, FREE OF ANY THEMATIC SETTING, WHERE ART INTERACTS WITH SPACE AND NATURE.

Residenzad’artista

The project came into being in 2018, in collaboration with Neapolitan collector Fabio Agovino. Two artists every year are invited to take part, one international and one Italian, selected from the Agovino Collection, who in their praxis express particular attention to sculptural practice, and to landscape and environmental culture. Through an immersive experience at Aquapetra they have the opportunity to be in dialogue with one other, and with the resort’s rural and architectural space to produce their site-specific work. The inaugural artists for the first edition of the Artists’ Residency are Chiara Camoni and Martin Soto Climent.

The work, produced using marble fragments from production waste, symbolizes the contrast between the transience of human actions and the eternal cycle of nature, birth and renewal.

An ethereal construction reminiscent of a large spider web. Everyday objects become portals to other dimensions and metaphors for that invisible energy that permeates every single thing in the world.

“ART CREATES AN ENVIRONMENT TO THE SAME DEGREE TO WHICH THE ENVIRONMENT CREATES ART”.

Aquapetra
home of art
In Aquapetra artists and gallerists find an interaction space that institutes a completely new mode of dialogue between artwork and visitor, between buyer and exhibition space, between exhibition space and the surrounding environment. The location’s natural and architectural beauty engages with the expressive power of contemporary art, in a continuous dialogue that leads to the production of unprecedented new works and experiences.

“Who knows how many thousands of times I will have seen the word HOTEL written, large, small, red, white… I looked at it: having exhausted its communicative powers in a few milliseconds, that noun vanished from my conscience… Sometimes all that’s needed in order to add, is to take away”.

Spazioespositivo

The inner rooms, the glass and stone patio, the parkland: the Aquapetra exhibition space is the canvas for creating ever novel research pathways and reflection on the world and on art and on the way in which they interact in a constant interplay of meanings.
